Extended Bio
Kaitlyn was drawn to naturopathic medicine at a young age because of her own allergies and digestive issues, and through working with a Naturopathic Doctor, was able to manage many of her concerns. Due to this, she enjoys helping patients improve digestion and uncover food sensitivities that may be contributing to many other health ailments. During her 4th year internship, she also had the opportunity to work with cancer patients on the Adjunctive Cancer Care shift. From this, she enjoys empowering people through critical illnesses that require a broad treatment approach.
After being in practice for over 8 years, she is passionate in helping women in different hormone changes/imbalances throughout their life (menstrual/PMS, PCOS, Preconception, Pregnancy, Peri-menopause and Menopause). She is now studying to receive bio-identical hormone therapy as a treatment for hormone imbalances alongside naturopathic remedies.
In her internship at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, Kaitlyn had the opportunity to work in the Brampton Naturopathic Teaching Clinic at William Osler Hospital – one of the first ever integrations of naturopathic medicine in a hospital-based setting. Here, she provided supportive treatments for mental health concerns such as anxiety/depression, chronic pain, diabetes and metabolic health. Throughout her years of study, she travelled to Peru to provide naturopathic care in the shantytowns of Lima, and also developed more of her knowledge in homeopathy at the Other Song Academy in Mumbai, India.
She has appeared on Inside Guelph discussing “Anxiety Tips for your Everyday Life” early in practice, despite being an introvert with anxiety! She previously wrote for Naturopathic Currents and Flourish (New Roots) Magazine), which are popular resources for natural health information, written by Naturopathic Doctors across North America. She also has teamed up with local Yoga studios and workplaces to run natural health and yoga-related events for the community.
In her spare time Kaitlyn will be found reading an inspiring book or article, sipping local coffee, or hanging out in nature with family and friends. Also an aspiring foodie, Kaitlyn loves cooking gluten- and dairy-free recipes that are both healthy and nutritious. Her go-to stress buster are mindfulness, going for walks in nature and yoga, which she believes are great ways to incorporate the body, mind and breath.
