Meet Dr. Kaitlyn Zorn, ND
Hello there! I am a Guelph Naturopathic Doctor who empowers individuals to live their best life by incorporation of both mind and body. Feeling fatigued, irritable or stressed? There are reasons for this and it is possible to live a peaceful life full of energy and ease. Our energy levels and the way that we feel are both very important factors in enabling us to feel vital and healthy, therefore I work a lot with anxiety/stress, depression along with adrenal, thyroid and other hormonal imbalances. I believe that the food we eat should energize us and make us feel good, therefore concerns like indigestion, IBS and bloating are also commonly seen in my office. Using conventional medical practices and insights from Eastern traditions, I create research-informed, safe and effective treatments incorporating the whole person.
At a young age, I was always drawn to nature, and healthy living. It wasn't until allergies and digestive issues were successfully treated through working with an ND, did I realize that this was the career choice for me! Later, throughout naturopathic college, mental health and stress management become new health focuses and are areas that I am passionate about. Although I work with all chronic or acute health conditions, my own experiences have shaped me as a practitioner.
In my 4th year internship at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM), I had the opportunity to work in the Brampton Naturopathic Teaching Clinic at William Osler Hospital (BNTC)– one of the first ever integrations of naturopathic medicine in a hospital-based setting. Working on the Adjunctive Cancer Care Shift, I was also privileged to help support individuals to reduce treatment side effects, promote recovery and prevent relapses. Throughout my years of study, I had the opportunity to travel to Peru to provide naturopathic care in the shantytowns of Lima, and also developed more homeopathic expertise at the Other Song Academy in Mumbai, India.
Being a local Guelphite, you may have seen me speaking on Inside Guelph discussing “Anxiety Tips for your Everyday Life” or hosting seminars and lunch and learns around the community. If you haven't already, you will have to join myself and a Yoga Instructor colleague at our one of our Yoga & Health upcoming events. Join the Healing Foundations Naturopathic Clinic mailing by clicking here. I also find myself writing for other natural health resources such as NaturalPath - a popular natural health website, written by Naturopathic Doctors across North America - and the Naturopathic Doctor News Review publication.
When not seeing patients at the clinic you will find me reading an inspiring book or article, sipping local coffee or hanging out with nature, family and friends. My other favourite past times are creating healthy gluten and dairy-free recipes, keeping up with my yoga/meditation practices and travelling to the next adventure location.
Whatever ails you, I will help you get to your optimal place of health by using various naturopathic techniques such as botanical medicine, clinical nutrition and supplements, acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, homeopathy and lifestyle counselling.
I am honoured to help you on your health and wellness journey!
